The reason for forming the project
We all know that a large amount of waste from single-use plastic is increasing day by day, while their use-time is only a few minutes and the lifespan is up to 1000 years.
Only plastic straws used today:
· In the US, according to statistics, there are millions of plastic straws thrown away every day:
· A resort on the island of Hawaii used more than 800,000 straws in 1 year
· AccorHotels in the US and Canada used up to 4.2 million straws a year.
· In the UK, an estimated 4.4 billion plastic straws are thrown away every year.
· In Asia, Anatara and AVANI hotel chains alone consume 2.49 million straws a year.
Not to mention the kinds of plastic bags, spoons, knives, forks, food containers, and so on.
In Vietnam, the plastics problem is becoming uncontrollable. So what do we need to do?

Ban
· In Vancouver, Canada, from April 2020, single-use plastic is officially banned.
· The UK government has planned to ban the distribution and sale of single-use plastic products in the UK between October 2019 and October 2020.
· As of July 1, 2020, Seattle is the first US city to ban plastic straws, plastic rods, and stirrers.
· In Europe: The European Union (EU) decided to ban single-use plastic items such as straws, forks, knives, and cotton swabs from 2021.
· In Australia: Since March 1, the South Australian state government has banned certain single-use plastic items such as straws, knives, forks, and spoons. Individuals who violate this regulation will be fined 315 AUD (about 244 USD).
· San Francisco's Board of Supervisors has approved a proposal to ban plastic straws in the city.

What did Vinastraws do?
In May 2019, we started our project with a 1000 m2 ISO 22000-2018 factory in Kim Thanh district, Hai Duong province. Currently, we have 2 production lines, with a closed production process from input materials to finished products. We have ISO 22000-2018 certificate and FDA certificate to export to USA. - From May 2019 to November 2019 is the time when we design, install workshops and research products. - In December 2019, we launched the finished product and sent samples to a number of countries such as Sweden, Korea, USA, UK.... - April 2020 we export the first shipment to Belgium. _ After April 2020, we have exported many more shipments to the US, UK, Korea, Czech.... - In July 2020, we provided 1 agent in Vietnam to bring straws into Vinpearl's system so far. - In addition, we also provide other coffee chains, restaurants, and small hotels. - Our products have been well received by customers through re-orders. Currently, we reach customers through 2 channels online and offline both at home and abroad. In addition to marketing for sales, we also organize experience sharing sessions with students. Hopefully, the love of the environment, the habit of using green products will be a bridge for young people for a green future.
